Christmas and Summer are Here Early!

“Mandurah’s Festive Spirit Shines Bright: Lights, Action, and Community Cheer!”

I was wandering around the foreshore this weekend, admiring the mesmerizing array of lights the city has put up again this year. The displays along the foreshore, with their twinkling gold and white lights reflecting off the water, were particularly breathtaking. It does seem like the city started decking out earlier than usual, doesn’t it? And here I am, not even having started my Christmas shopping!

With the heatwave, the beautiful decorations going up, and the buzz about Black Friday sales (which, by the way, is not Friday the 13th but the day after Thanksgiving in the US, known for major retail sales), you’d think it’s already December! I’m still catching up, so if anyone wants to enlighten this very overwhelmed real estate agent, feel free to drop a comment below!

Despite the hustle, I truly love Christmas and am looking forward to some quality time off with the family. And speaking of community spirit, the Port Mandurah citizens are once again gearing up to dazzle us all. Mandurah Cruises/Sea West is kicking off their tours on November 30th, hosting Camp Quality kids and their families. A huge shoutout to everyone involved—the joy and laughter these events bring to the kids are heartwarming.

This year, the canal light judging will be on December 14th. As always, the public can vote on their favourite displays on one of many boat tours. And there’s more! The City and Sauvage the Agency are sponsoring a competition to encourage Mandurah businesses to light up for the festive season. This could add a whole new dimension to the Christmas Light Trail. Imagine the media spotlight on Mandurah and the free advertising for local businesses! Keep an eye out for QR codes in business windows to vote for your favourite display.

There are exciting prizes for the top three displays, and the city is even considering small grants to help businesses light up. Did you know? Last December, residents and visitors spent approximately $156 million in Mandurah, a 2% increase from 2021. It’s heartening to see our local businesses thrive with such support from the community.

AFL DRAFT and PEEL THUNDER
A massive congratulations to the Peel Thunder Football Club and three of our local talents who were picked in the AFL Draft. Reece Torrent is off to Brisbane Lions, Mitch Edwards to Geelong, and Clay Hall to West Coast Eagles. These young men have shown incredible dedication and skill, and I have no doubt they’ll do fantastic things in their careers. We’re all rooting for you!

Wrapping Up
As the festive season approaches, let’s embrace the joy, the community spirit, and the bright lights of Mandurah. Whether you’re a local, a visitor, or just a curious reader, I invite you to share your favourite Christmas experiences in Mandurah in the comments on our facebook page, @sauvagetheagency. You never know! The best story may get a present from Santa if we can get him off the beach and sunbathing.

Let’s spread the festive cheer far and wide!

CHRISTMAS DONATIONS WHAT WE NEED

Christmas is coming, and we are looking forward to all the beautiful light shows around Mandurah once again!

We would love it if you could drop into our office the following items: This will greatly help us get more hampers out there for people doing it tough. We generally do gift bags for women, but if we get enough help, we will do some for the men out there too.

This is providing women and men in crisis care with a nice gift bag for Christmas—essentials and a few luxury items—to make them smile. Below are the things we need. As we get enough of the items, they will come off the list in the next few weeks newsletter. I have included cash to enable us to buy what we are short of. And the team here at Sauvge would like to show our gratitude and thanks in advance. Items are in lots of 10 to make the gift bags uniform.
